Free Fall Treats

I love this time of year!  Living near the mountains of North Carolina, I am able to enjoy the fall foliage.  It is such a beautiful season, wonderful weather, and fun get togethers.  In the area I live, we have lots of Chicken Stews in the fall too.  All I can say is YUMMY!

I thought I would share some free treats I have for the fall season to use with your students.

There once was a little witch that decided to go to school, but something terrible happened.  She lost her broom!  Well, not really but it worked for my kiddos.  Checkout the Pinterest inspired craft and writing activity I created to go along with it.  I made a quick template, got some paint swatches (or whatever you call those things), glue sticks, some stickers, and of course the students and began creating.  Here is the freebie writing activity.

Another treat I have is Candy Corn Adjectives!  Yummy!!! This Fabulous Fall Freebie can be used inn any classroom. I saw a bulletin board on Pinterest and now can't find it. That board was my inspiration for this activity. The bulletin board was a big piece of candy corn. The students were filling in adjectives to show why they like Halloween. So I created my own activity for my class to do with it. I hope you can use it.

Have a Happy Fall!

Open House Freebie

Last year I need something for open house.  I wanted a cute way to ask for ask for supplies for the classroom so I created this freebie.  I simply copied the circles on colorful paper, cut them out, and added a Hershey's Kiss to each one.  I printed the display and put it on a black frame I had and displayed it on a table in my classroom.  I didn't take a picture, but you can put this together easily and get some of the needed supplies for your classroom and students!  The best part is you may have a little chocolate left for you to enjoy!!!

Earth Day Fun

This year we are on Spring Break (jumping up and down) for Earth Day.  My class enjoyed lots of fun activities before Easter to learn more about helping protect our planet.  We listen to the Lorax by Dr. Seuss.  We also watched the original Lorax video.  After that we wrote stories about how we would help save the Earth.  We even made our own Truffla Trees. They were yummy and super easy.  I forgot to take pictures so here is a pinterest photo.

Truffla Trees...saw this and thought super cute! Can not wait for Kobe's party!!
All you need is white chocolate or vanilla candy coating, sprinkles, candy sticks, and marshmallows.  I used my Crock Pot to melt the candy coating.  Then we dipped the marshmallows on the sticks into the candy coating, and after that in the sprinkles.  We let them cool and enjoyed.  Quick, easy, and yummy!!!

Getting into Shapes

Math is always more fun when you use food.  This week we have been learning about two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes.  After learning about vertexes, edges, and faces, we decided to make some three-dimensional shapes.  We used mini marshmallows for vertexes and toothpicks for edges.  We made several shapes, and learned why we could not make others.

I also read one of my favorite books to the class about angles.  I just love this book!  I found a copy of it on YouTube read aloud too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aE0yle-z5uE

Fluttering and Hopping

I can't wait to expand our study on life cycles after spring break.  Yes, we have a few weeks before it will arrive, but I thought planning now would save me time over spring break.  I love studying butterflies and frogs.  I have created a couple writing activities I will be using:  The Life Cycle of a Butterfly and The Life Cycle of a Frog.

The Life Cycle of a Butterfly Writing Activity
The Life Cycle of a Frog Writing Activity

I also found this awesome resource from Amy Lemons on tpt.  I will be using it too!

Frogs and Butterflies {Life Cycle Fun!}

I have also loved making symmetrical painted butterflies in the past.

I know my class will love exploring life cycles more and watching our caterpillars become painted lady butterflies.  I can't wait!!!

Come on Spring Break!!!
